Dr. Turner is originally from Chattanooga, TN. She graduated magna cum laude with a degree in chemistry and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. She also earned her medical degree from Vanderbilt University. She completed her general surgery residency at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. As a resident, she was awarded the American Association for Cancer Research Judah Folkman Fellowship for Anti-Angiogenesis Research, a grant utilized to study the interaction of cytokines and the blood supply in pancreatic tumors. She then completed her clinical surgical oncology fellowship at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY.
Dr. Turner joined Lexington Surgeons in September of 2017. She was board certified in general surgery in 2016 and is completing her board certification in surgical oncology. Her clinical interests include benign and malignant tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, endocrine organs, and soft tissues (melanoma and sarcoma). She resides in Lexington, KY with her husband and daughter.
